They're complementary. STARTTLS is one way to keep sender/rcpt information a little further away from people who like to keep track of associations between people. So, ah, back to the question: if you're concerned about this sort of information leaking, yes spamd could be a problem. And if you're concerned about message body leaking, you might want to make sure users are _never_ blacklisted.
