I could do it with bi-quads only on either end but by using the parabolic

A bit off-topic from misc@, but you might consider purchasing a
professional-grade antenna. I believe that pacwireless.com sells most
in the 2.4GHz range at or under $65 USD that will more than suffice (I
am unaffiliated). I advise against the headache of the homemade
bi-quad (I've seen you mention it twice on the list now). You might
minimize some of the signal backwash, but they are particularly sloppy
when forward-facing and not exactly known for their strengths in
maintaining a tight polarity. Worth a brief mention as well is the
odd beamwidth pattern that scatters outward.

Now, that being stated, if you're doing this for the 'neat' factor --
by all means! If for any other reason or if you're doing it in a
heavily RF-saturated area, you're doing a grand disservice to others
around you. It makes me cringe every time I hear about a cantenna,
bi-quad, or other not-so-savory means of dispersing RF into the
atmosphere (I've seen people cut holes in guttering drains and turn
them vertical) -- it clutters the band with (usually) dirty signals
for those who are responsible enough to use it efficiently. Thanks
for avoiding the amplifiers!
