Just a small question. I back up data to a DVD-R disc occasionally and accidentally wrote to the same DVD-R twice with the same filenames. When mounting it only the most recent write is seen.
a) Is there a way to pad DVD-R's to prevent any further writes to it as a means of write-protection? b) Is there a way to extract the older backups with the same name? c) Is it possible to workaround the cd9660 filesystem to display all files with the same name and automatically rewriting duplicate filenames in order to keep them distinct? thanks, -peter -- Here my ticker tape .signature #### My name is Peter Philipp #### lynx -dump "http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pufferfish&oldid=20768394" | sed -n 131,136p #### There is no such thing as a certified security specialist #### Security is the countermeasure to a constantly changing idea of how to compromise a system when given the opportunity #### What you really mean is a certified security historian, and even that depends on how up-to-date you are and on your cognitive abilities #### Feeling special still?
