I notice GCC 4.1 includes a reimplementation of the stack smashing protection already included in OpenBSD. Have there been any comments on this new functionality from the OpenBSD community? Anyone know of differences between IBM's old and the new merged functionality?
(I realize upgrading toolchains is anything but a trivial undertaking, so I don't expect to see OpenBSD considering switching to GCC 4.x anytime soon. I'm just curious.) Thanks.
