Hi list,

i'm about to install a webapplication on my obsd test system and noticed
that copying/deleting lots of small files (50.000 files with 150mb) is
very slow, around 50kb/sec. The system does nothing else, cpu-load is
99% idle and 100% idle, but system load is around 3-4 when deleting and
1-2 when copying. When i copy a random-filled 10mb file it takes ~1.5
seconds, nothing spectacular, but a value i can live with.

I see nothing in the logs so my question is, if somebody can give me a
pointer to resolve this (or has a explanation for it). Dmesg says that
the Symbios Logic 53c1010-33 only runs with 80 instead 160mhz, but this
should not be the reason for such a poor performance, or?

Any ideas?

Greets, Chris
