pf in OpenBSD is what the developers use to protect their own systems. As such it is probably better and stronger than anything you can buy. What you can buy is a high price tag, maybe some hand-holding, and probably a false sense of security. There may be some features that are worth it. Maybe, Depends. Documentation?
