   Incidentally D-Link are in the doghouse at the moment for selling
   consumer routers configured to query a number of stratum-1 NTP
   timeservers intended for restricted use: (not just phk's).

DFE-570TX uses the dc(4) driver and should be fine,

DFE-580TX is a different chipset supported by the ste(4) driver:
the AMD64 GENERIC kernel has the line commented-out;

#ste* at pci? # Sundance ST201 ethernet BORKED

It should be ok on i386 (not as good as the 570TX though, the dc(4)
is better choice if you can find it).

There are some reasonably-priced 100mb quad cards still produced;

http://www.soekris.com/lan16x1.htm - sis(4) driver
http://www.routerboard.com/rb44.html - vr(4) driver

(Routerboard list a distributor in Hyderabad - wispindia.com -
looking at posts to soekris-tech certainly some Soekris products
are available in India too).

I haven't seen for myself but there's no reason they shouldn't
work with OpenBSD.

Or Intel have quad-gigabit boards but they're quite expensive.

Discontinued product; you'll only find it as old stock or second-hand.
Alternatives that you might also find second-hand: Znyx ZX346, Adaptec
ANA-6944A (other Adaptecs aren't a good choice). There were also some
Matrox quad-fxp cards.

Znyx usually turn up second-hand more often than the others;
I believe they were used in NetApp filers so there are a few around.
