the point isn't really the system itself, as for OpenBSD being a small project even simple git would do the point is to handle high load of the web component, and cvs lacks quality web components, as we are learning here the hard way there are web UIs to git proven to be very high performing ...plus of course git is a much more advanced version control system than CVS, if not simply because it's younger and better designed
