FWIW, about 10 years i read: https://www.oreilly.com/library/view/21st-century-c/9781491904428/ in order level up my "relatively solid but definitely 1990s-style" C skills and recall finding it useful. It's unfortunately been too long to recall any specifics, but i don't recall being annoyed with the book like i have with so many sloppy/rushed/poorly edited works (mostly, possibly exclusively, about Java).
