I don't get it and I was thinking you're refering to a known topic.

Also: those shells and zsh are running both on BSD and linux.
If you revamp your code to remove the need of arrays (who needs arrays
when we have pipes and files?), your code will run for free on
busybox/toybox based systems like alpine.
