I'm sorry but I really forgot the name/subject of the thread.
It happened that playing on Mate themes and interfaces I arrived to conclude that my long standing Caja problem with file/folder selection in Dark mode was just due to the theme in use, I believe a BlackAndWhite theme controls look & feel (expecially feel).. in Xfce / Mate. I hope this can eventually useful to someone. And sorry for the noise of any previous bug report.
