As a client, or as a server? If it's a server, try googling "samba ldap authentication" (no quotes). I haven't done this with Samba, but I've used LDAP to authenticate Apache users on OpenBSD against AD.

If you want to browse SMB/CIFS shares as a client, Sharity-Light may work, and recent KDE versions will browse Windows shares more or less the same way as a Windows box.
