Windows likes to delete EFI entries for other bootloaders, I realised
it when I was doing a dual boot Linux/Windows setup for a non-techy
friend to convince him to adopt an alternative OS than Windows.

For whatever reason, Windows will wipe all EFI entries, it sticks its
bootloader within the existing EFI partition though, just wipes the
other entries so you have to reboot back into an installer to add the
EFI entry again. but after that the dual boot seems rock solid,
although I am not experienced in this either.

I would be curious to know *why* the Windows installer wipes all the
other entries, is it simply a half-arsed attempt at telling you not to
use another OS?

Take care,
