Definitely it is not outdated :-) I got it from http://www.openbsd.org/books.html#1 an year or so ago and it has helped me a lot. it is also very compact that helps you carry and read while you travel ( i had and still have to travel 2hrs to my work and 2hrs back home). You get a very good detailed explanation on the core things of PF. Ofcourse somthings added to PF functionalities after the book got published obviouly is missing but thats no reason to call it out dated by any means.
