your acme-client.conf is about 5.5 years too old: https://cvsweb.openbsd.org/src/etc/examples/acme-client.conf#rev1.2 The correct staging url is https://acme-staging-v02.api.letsencrypt.org/directory If your acme-client is the same vintage you probably need to update, I don't think it will be able to talk to a v2 api endpoint. -- In my defence, I have been left unsupervised.
