David I've actually had that happen, back in the 90's I was the IT Manager at AMCOR(Australian Paper) only corrugated container paper mill in the US, located in Prewitt NM. At 1130pm on a Saturday night I got paged from the Mill staff that the label printer at end of paper machines was printing garbage. After calling DEC VAX support I headed out for the 90 mile drive to the mill.
The DEC field engineer and I troubleshot the gibberish printouts for a couple hours. We finally realized the printer power cord was connected to a wall outlet instead of the clearly marked Clean power outlet. Turns out janitorial staff had unplugged the printer when they mopped the floor. diana On December 24, 2024 2:29:08 PM MST, David <curmudg...@telaman.net.au> wrote: >On Tue, 2024-12-24 at 20:51 +0000, Stuart Henderson wrote: SNIP >> OD1000, no idea what's broken, it's 7000km away and doesn't respond >> on >> console. > >The cleaner pulled the plug to use the vacuum. >> >> >
