Hi all,

I've been trying to figure out how to get my old laptop to blank its
screen when I'm not using it, so it can be a small home server. It
*should* be easy, but wsconsctl display.brightness doesn't seem to
exist at all, so I can't set it to anything.

After going around in circles between abl (installed, apparently? dmesg
says "abl0 at acpi0: PNLF (backlight)" and the documentation for abl,
acpi, and and a few other things, the only thing I have to show for it
is that my GPU & video card isn't supported (Nvidia) - which since I'm
not planning to run X11 isn't a big deal, I still have a console. I
don't *think* the GPU controls the backlight, anyway?

Does anybody have suggestions as to where I could look to somehow
activate the abl driver so I can actually change the backlight
brightness? Or if it's active as dmesg seems to be saying, how to get
display.brightness to even show up as something I can try to control.

Thanks,
  -Rhonda
