IIRC that is how they look if they need some "unlock" command sending to the device that hasn't been sent - umb(4) has an "FCC Authentication" thing for some devices (see umb_send_fcc_auth() in sys/dev/usb/if_umb.c) but there may be some other devices which need similar that don't currently do it. -- Please keep replies on the mailing list.
