Hello List,

First of all I would like to say a big FU for the nazi reddit moderators who
delete posts from the /r/OpenBSD in 5 minutes tops get a f life or get fkd.
I tried to make some new use case for OpenBSD 7.6 like replacing some of my old
Debian OpenVPN servers with it.

The results were more than miserable.

I throw together 3 KVM machines with the exact same parameters (1CPU,1GB ram)
on a Debian Linux host machine:

OpenBSD 7.6
NetBSD 10
Debian 9 stretch

Host servers bandwidth:
Testing download
speed................................................................................
Download: 804.25 Mbit/s
Testing upload
speed......................................................................................................
Upload: 859.22 Mbit/s

I run OpenVPN with the exact same config on all 3 vms and NAT the connections
out from the physical server. The test client was Android 13 phone from 5G,
after connecting to the VPNs I simply ran multiple speedtests with the spedtest
app, regardless rerunning them many times the rerun numbers were not that far
off so you can't say it's a mistake.

Here are the results:

Debian 9: 95mbit/s down 32mbit/s up
OpenBSD 7.6: 11 mbit/s down 7mbit/s up
NetBSD 10: 29mbit/s down 3mbit/s up

I'm pretty sure that this performance also has something to do with the
virtualization which is jackshit for all *bsds* in general both in host mode,
both in guest mode they are nowhere near to Linux in functionality so please
work on it.

I will give a try for OpenBSD at the next release again next year lol...
