You are correct, there have been many threads on this topic over the years on bugs@ and misc@. Here's one, but you can find others by searching for some combination of 'clocksource' and 'tsc': https://marc.info/?t=169787365000001 I prefer the follow Linux kernel parameters, versus the installable kernel module, on my Alpine guests to achieve reliable time: clocksource=tsc tsc=reliable I'm currently on Alpine 3.20 without any time skew, and no changes have been made to the host system.
