I'm trying to boot a 7.5 IMG USB installer and install to a Samsung SATA SSD.
With the SSD plugged in, the boot process looks like this:

However if I disconnect the SSD and boot the installer again with no other
storage connected, It prompts to start the installation process like normal. Of
course the only disk available now is the USB installer.

Welcome to the OpenBSD/amd64 7.5 installation program.
(I)nstall, (U)pgrade, (A)utoinstall or (S)hell?
Some more info:
- BIOS and SSD firmware are both the most recent version.
- AHCI mode is enabled in the BIOS.
- No other SATA options make a difference (Device Type, Toplogy, etc.).
- 7.5 installs successfully to an M.2 NVMe (again only when SATA is
disconnected).
- Other installers I've tried (Ubuntu, Fedora, and Windows 11 USB) are
successful.
I did try booting with SATA disconnected, chose `s` for a shell, THEN connect
the SATA drive, and running /dev/MAKEDEV. MAKEDEV returns to a new line with no
output and `sysctl hw.disknames` still only shows the ramdisk and installer.
Any ideas where to go next would be greatly appreciated.
