I do indeed desire this capability in order to save a dmesg from a system booted from bsd.rd. I would prefer not to use a usb flash drive because of concerns about BadUSB attacks. I can't save the file on the CD which I booted from, hence my desire to use ethernet. However, after some thought, I realized that I could use dd to save the file to an un-allocated portion of the hard drive, and then read it back after booting a different OS.
