Today Antoine Jacoutot had this to say:

Selon Denny White <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Yep, helps a lot. I kind of figured I'd need to either run
current or else wait for 3.9 which, the latter, is what
I'm going to do. Time to preorder. :-) Thanks, Antoine.
That cleared things up.

Glad I could be of some help.
As a matter of fact, I'm the SANE port maintainer for OpenBSD, so don't hesitate
to bug me if you have any problem making it work under this OS.

Bye...

I'm sorely tempted to try building the current port while still
running _3_8, or, & probably better all around, upgrading to current.
I know 3.9's not coming until May. Just preordered it, but I hate
waiting. :-) Have an old HP 3400C usb scanner that's listed as complete
at the sane site. Probably the only thing holding me back is just how
smooth my obsd system's working. Hate to do anything to screw it up. I'm
not a developer, programmer, or any kind of guru. Just love obsd, the
security it provides, and the relative ease of installing & maintaining
it for a relative newbie. I guess the worst that could happen would be the
port would fail to build & I'd just have to do a make clean. Or, it'd
build & then not run properly and, I'd just have to uninstall it & hope
it'd uninstall properly. Any thoughts on this, let me know. And, once
again, thanks for the answer & the info.
