Nginx is truly fast but also - my advise - depends from a lot of internal variables that make it *slightly* prone to security matters. From this point of view I bet Apache could be considered the safest choice. Uhm, I'm thrilled from security matters but mostly I like speed and here I'm with Nginx too. What about you?
