I would expect this would merely be a slight roadblock to people hell-bent on 
doing things that aren’t documented or supported, while making release upgrades 
harder for newbies lacking the urge to “customize”. (Tho of course it was the 
status quo ante just a couple releases ago.)

There’s probably not a software solution to “it hurts when I do this”.
