Hullo Jan, It might be worth your while to involve yourself with LaTeX. The TexMaker package is available in OpenBSD and it's almost trivial via that. There are plenty of resources around, including a very comprehensive work on Wikibooks - downloadable as a .pdf. Just load the package `tipa' into your preamble (document definition: depending on whether you went to Oxford or Cambridge), and you're good to go. Cheers!
