That latter is a problem for cameras (like my Logitech C920) that do auto-exposure: no matter what framerate you ask for, they continually adjust it to match what they think the exposure should be. In practise, this means that you end up with duplicated frames (even in well lit situations) which is tolerable for a video chat but more annoying for recorded videos. Some cameras don't have an automatic exposure setting and so, I presume, are immune to this problem, though I have yet to acquire such a camera to test. Laurie
