Hey gang, I have an old ASUS netbook running a syspatch version of 6.5 that I've turned into a useful fileserver for long-term backups recently.
'Til last night I was just turning the computer off at night, but last night I elected to give apmd and zzz a whirl on it so it'd come to life faster the following day than a full boot would take. Everything was grand this morning except the two external USB drives not only didn't spin back up like the internal disk did but also required an fsck. 1. Is this normal behavior? 2. Is this a case where these files are supposed to be customized to handle cases like external disks umount / mount, and I'm an idiot for not having done so? /etc/apm/suspend /etc/apm/hibernate /etc/apm/standby /etc/apm/resume /etc/apm/powerup /etc/apm/powerdown dmesg below...
