I don't think this is the case. I was able to connect directly to my laptop and get a lease immediately. Its odd... With base dhclient it goes something like: em0.... no link em0......... got link and then nothing. I installed isc-dhcp-client and it actually goes through the steps of the whole DHCPDISCOVER...etc,etc. Unfortunantly it still ends with me not having a connection. I doubt it will do anything, but I'm going to try updating the bios. Sort of like checking the oil when the problem is a flat tire, but who knows. Thanks, edgar
