I have several boxes which all have /tmp (and /var/log) on a mfs, which is 105% after some time. These boxes admittedly are gateways/firewalls only, just doing pf, nat and ipsec stuff. they run happily with full /tmp for months. could it be, that there are some resource hungry processes, that have sometimes a run-away condition starving your box of memory? (of course not user processes) i had this problem sometimes ago with snort. --knitti
