Hi, Two days ago I tested a -current snapshot on my Sun Blade 1500. Last time I tried was long ago, near 4.9, and wanted to confirm everything was still fine.
After fighting against an old dead hard drive and reseating the graphics card because of dust; the machine started flawlessly. OpenBSD was installed perfectly in minutes and the machine is now up and running, albeit it makes the noise of a NASA Data Center in my office. Years ago, I had problems with the autri(4) audio driver. Audio now works perfectly with sndiod(8) on the integrated speaker. I launched a few ports compilation and after some hours^days, Netsurf was ready. One minor glitch that I encounter is that X doesn't seem to be able to do GL anymore. Back in the 4.9 times, I remember that was possible to run glxgears(1) for example. Are there limitations with new versions of Xserver? Here are some infos, dmesg and Xorg.0.log. Cheers. ### glxgears $ glxgears Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual ### glxinfo $ glxinfo Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig name of display: :0 ### xdpyinfo $ xdpyinfo name of display: :0 version number: 11.0 vendor string: The X.Org Foundation vendor release number: 11906000 X.Org version: 1.19.6 maximum request size: 16777212 bytes motion buffer size: 256 bitmap unit, bit order, padding: 8, MSBFirst, 32 image byte order: MSBFirst number of supported pixmap formats: 8 supported pixmap formats: depth 1, bits_per_pixel 1, scanline_pad 32 depth 4, bits_per_pixel 8, scanline_pad 32 depth 8, bits_per_pixel 8, scanline_pad 32 depth 15, bits_per_pixel 16, scanline_pad 32 depth 16, bits_per_pixel 16, scanline_pad 32 depth 24, bits_per_pixel 32, scanline_pad 32 depth 32, bits_per_pixel 32, scanline_pad 32 depth 7, bits_per_pixel 8, scanline_pad 32 keycode range: minimum 8, maximum 255 focus: window 0x80000d, revert to Parent number of extensions: 27 BIG-REQUESTS DAMAGE DOUBLE-BUFFER DPMS DRI2 GLX Generic Event Extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER MIT-SHM Present RANDR RECORD RENDER SECURITY SGI-GLX SHAPE SYNC X-Resource XC-MISC XFIXES XFree86-DGA XFree86-VidModeExtension XINERAMA XInputExtension XKEYBOARD XTEST XVideo default screen number: 0 number of screens: 1 screen #0: dimensions: 1920x1080 pixels (508x286 millimeters) resolution: 96x96 dots per inch depths (8): 7, 1, 4, 8, 15, 16, 24, 32 root window id: 0x198 depth of root window: 7 planes number of colormaps: minimum 1, maximum 1 default colormap: 0x20 default number of colormap cells: 128 preallocated pixels: black 0, white 1 options: backing-store NO, save-unders NO largest cursor: 1920x1080 current input event mask: 0x58003d KeyPressMask ButtonPressMask ButtonReleaseMask EnterWindowMask LeaveWindowMask SubstructureNotifyMask SubstructureRedirectMask PropertyChangeMask number of visuals: 6 default visual id: 0x21 visual: visual id: 0x21 class: PseudoColor depth: 7 planes available colormap entries: 128 red, green, blue masks: 0x0, 0x0, 0x0 significant bits in color specification: 6 bits visual: visual id: 0x22 class: GrayScale depth: 7 planes available colormap entries: 128 red, green, blue masks: 0x0, 0x0, 0x0 significant bits in color specification: 6 bits visual: visual id: 0x23 class: StaticColor depth: 7 planes available colormap entries: 128 red, green, blue masks: 0x7, 0x18, 0x60 significant bits in color specification: 6 bits visual: visual id: 0x24 class: TrueColor depth: 7 planes available colormap entries: 8 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0x7, 0x18, 0x60 significant bits in color specification: 6 bits visual: visual id: 0x25 class: DirectColor depth: 7 planes available colormap entries: 8 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0x7, 0x18, 0x60 significant bits in color specification: 6 bits visual: visual id: 0x26 class: StaticGray depth: 7 planes available colormap entries: 128 red, green, blue masks: 0x0, 0x0, 0x0 significant bits in color specification: 6 bits ### dmesg: console is keyboard/display Copyright (c) 1982, 1986, 1989, 1991, 1993 The Regents of the University of California.
