Perhaps "xterm*selectToClipboard: true" in ~/.Xresources?
When using xterm, I'm also doing "set -g set-clipboard on" in
~/.tmux.conf, which needs "disallowedWindowOps: 20,21,SetXprop" in
~/.Xresources as well.
