Could be anything. What guest VM are you running here? And how much memory are you assigning? A useful option is to run vmd manually (rcctl stop vmd && vmd -dvvvv), and/or to enable VMM_DEBUG in sys/arch/amd64/amd64/vmm.c and rebuild the kernel.
