If the T460s is not rugged enough for you, chances are you will not be happy with any of the current design (post-*30) Thinkpads. X230 or T430s will be the most recent Thinkpads that you want. Both have the new keyboard layout and DRM'd batteries, but a quick firmware flash will help you overcome those stumbling blocks. Added bonus is that both can be upgraded to 1080 IPS displays fairly easily. If you want semi-rugged, check out the old Dell ATG line; for fully-rugged, Dell XFR. Dell has a newer line of rugged Latitudes as well, but this might not be for you if your 3510 is already too heavy. In my experience, Latitudes work with OpenBSD just as well as their Thinkpad equivalents. Stick with Intel/Intel for both brands and you will be fine. Regards, Joseph Kiser
