I wonder if the cheap MegaRAID SATA 150-2 with a Silicon Image chip would work too and how mandatory is the PCI 2.2 requirement (I have PCI 2.1 on all my PCs) http://cgi.ebay.de/LSI-Logic-MegaRAID-SATA-150-2-Controller_W0QQitemZ8747510572QQcategoryZ78762QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem For example I have another cheapo card with Silicon Image - Adaptech 1210SA - and it works as a SATA controller only (but not RAID): pciide1 at pci0 dev 19 function 0 "CMD Technology AAR-1210SA" rev 0x02: DMA pciide1: using apic 2 int 17 (irq 9) for native-PCI
