Yes as my recent post to this topic related to my apology to the wrongfully accused my actual argument was towards the disdain of the BT network

I can actually fully understand your disapproval at the idea of using a torrent to distribute this file, and I can also emphasise with your dislikening of trying to create some validation system for the image.

I too, would not be interested in downloading some torrent as a preinstalled, configured OS to run, unless it was just for fun's sake in the VMWare player..

My primary target was the seemingly negative attack on the BT network. The BT network in essence is very popular and successful. Just as American law enforcement is. But it doesn't mean either of the two are honest or uncorrupted...

Yes, if someone chooses to share a corrupted file as a torrent, bad luck.

If you choose to read SPAM emails and follow through the prompts and realise you've just made 15 credit card transactions to a handful of different organisations you've never heard of in under 3 seconds, bad luck.

If you choose to open the nefarious "crack.exe" executable placed in nearly 85-95% of warez-related crack/keygen files, bad friggin luck. Enjoy the trojans and spyware..

If you run across a 6 lane highway with your eyes closed....

Ok I've had enough ;-) back to something fun.... php web development on apache2 living on my openbsd machine.. ahhhh heaven...

Don't worry mate, you've got your head screwed on right. This guy Graham still goes to work in a horse and carriage, and whilst I'd love to be back in the ages, unfortunately evolution has caught up with us..

Look again Julien. Graham said:

I assume your overly enthusiastic rant was supposed to be directed to
Bob? Who I think does not like the thought of running some random,
binary only, already installed, take it as it is, disk image of OpenBSD.

If someone where to go to the trouble of testing the integrity of every
single file in that disk image, they probably would be expending more
effort than doing the install itself. Yeah, okay, it is good for the
VMware player, which only plays existing images. Some people may get
something out of the image and that is great. But like Bob, I'll pass.
I don't think anyone should be flamed for not wanting it though.

Just because Bittorrent can be used to share data while keeping the
integrity of the original file intact, does not mean that you can't
share dodgy shit with it.

I'm not saying that this VMware image *is* dodgy, BTW. What I am saying
is that Bob and others most likely need trust to be earned and that
trust does not just come in an instant. I'm not talking about Bittorrent
here either, I'm talking about the VMware image.
