if your routing allows for it, you can also just have the VPN alternate
between different endpoints, eg. one on the leased line side, and one
on the Internet side of your network. Your internal routing would not
be much affected except that you know how to find the current gateway
where to push the traffic through (ie, detecting and properly handling
line failure). You don't need BGP for that.
