"lspci -v" from a working OS with it set to non-raid mode would be useful (or pcidump -v, if you can boot a copy of OpenBSD installed on a USB device etc). AFAIK generally we try *not* to match the RAID mode IDs to avoid damage to disks with existing RAID configurations..
