Code without listening to the feedback which has already been given based on the design isn't very useful either. Whether it's good code or not, the described behaviour is abusive to mirrors. If you are in e.g. Europe or N. America there is simply no need to download from a mirror in Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Costa Rica, etc., even to test performance.
