dpb's great, especially since I rtfm'd enough to find the -I flag. But I'm trying to build and install ports on a machine and use it for something else at the same time. It's not like I've got a lot of machines.
It seems like priority or niceness would need to get set on each process that's spawned. As far as I can see the same number would work everywhere. Or maybe have it take the number from an environment variable so it could be changed easily during the run. I always liked the ports system. it's always amazed me that all the pieces fit together and it works. I've rarely had trouble with it except when I try to circumvent it by using a newer version of something.
