just FYI. our spamd indeed had problems leading to corrupt db entries so some 
where never white listed. 

I changed it to use a simple in memory db and it now white lists as it should. 
the change is ok for us but not for openbsd, so I didn't submit any patch 
anywhere. 

the symptom of the problem is that some mails get rejected with temporary 
failures forever. I would pay attention to the logs and the db if using the 
stock spamd. 

Also, in case it affects, we are using the software raid.
