I've just ordered a D-Link DGS-1100 series low-end managed switch and

Not this particular switch, but there isn't much that can go wrong with
statically configured link aggregation like this.

If it's like the earlier D-Link web-managed switch that I had, it might
be fussy about the browser used to configure it, if you have problems
then try Firefox.

Thanks, Stuart. I'll breathe easier. The Manual I found at their
website listed a whole bunch of standard browsers by name and release,
so I'm not worried regarding the management interface.

(I've also discovered a "B" version of the hardware exists, which is a
completely different switch, and supports STP and LACP. With a lot of
luck, my supplier might have shipped the "B" variant to me.
