        You're asking whether in the near future we'll add support for amd64
        machines with 2^64 bytes of memory, machines which don't even exist?

apologies for being such a spaaz. i just missed the point that the
currently available amd64 hardware itself doesn't support 2^64 bytes
of memory. :)
