I just upgraded to the same snapshot successfully. One further note:
if you've downloaded the sets and are upgrading from a local disk,
you'll need to specify the path to xetc56.tgz by setting the SM_PATH
variable on the command line. Otherwise, sysmerge will attempt to
fetch the signature file via ftp and hang; in this snapshot at least,
sysmerge fails to prepend the "file://" portion of the URI when
looking for the sig file.

But apparently the xetc set is going away very soon, too, so if you
wait a day or two you might avoid this complication altogether.
