Depends on latest. The new low end centrino 1000 parts are trouble. I have a 6300, which as far as I know is still the latest, bestest, top of the line and it appears to work. My laptop came with a 2200, I bought the 6300 off ebay. Was about to say I don't know if scanning works, but I can test it. Nope, doesn't work, just blinks for a while. I never connect to unknown networks.
