Have you thought about using the Apple Extreme in bridge mode? I used a time capsule for a while, and it was the most reliable access point I've ever used. It's slightly annoying because you have to configure it using the magic apple app, but if you're just using it in bridge mode that's a one time operation and then you never touch it.
