We've got several VIA based micro ATX systems here. We've been using OpenBSD on them for years now, and never had any problems.
Today, I installed 3.8 (from the official CDs) and this went fine. I then rebooted the system off of the HD, and the boot started, but stopped at "sysbeep0 at pcppi0" I repeated the install on an identical box and got exactly the same problem.
