I have installed 5.2-release on an old Latitude C640 and the dmesg
reports the following (full dmesg attached):

And yes there is fun and games with CPU frequency control. I can't get
the reported frequency above 1.2GHz as reported by apm and sysctl.hw:

I have tried various BIOS settings for the CPU - maximum battery,
maximum performance, automatic etc. Being on AC or battery makes no
difference either. Doing a kernel build to put a load on the CPU also
doesn't budge it above the reported 1.2GHz.
Do the two extremes in fact map to 1.2 and 2.0 GHz? Any bashes with
clue bat? Given its age is it worth it? The machine is clean (base
install and a couple of packages only) and intended for tracking current
so I can try out patches.
