Upgrading to the newest release is the right way to go. And the best way to do it is to back up your data and do a full clean 5.2 install, skipping over in one step a dozen+ upgrades, then restoring from backup. BTW, how is it that you came to be running a 3.8 system? Did you inherit a machine from someone who was fired? You may need to rewrite some pf rules and familiarize yourself with a few changes, such as the rc.d system, DUIDs, and lots of other improvements. Nicolai
