I've been trying to get my Atheros-based wifi working and not having
any luck at all. I've read ath(4) and ifconfig(8), and I've searched
the archives.
I'm trying to connect to an open (no WEP, no MAC filter) 11b network
on channel 6, and no matter what I try I end up with "Status: no
network" from `ifconfig ath0' and it's dead in the water. `ifconfig
ath0' *will* show correct chan, bssid, etc., but always no network.
Since it's filling in parameters that I haven't set (bssid, channel)
it *must* be seeing the access point. I've tried simple dhclient, and
tried specifying addr/netmask.
I'm dual booting and wifi works fine w/linux. This is about the last
hurdle before I single boot this with openbsd, and I'd appreciate any
